Local Responsibility, International Support

Stelios Kazamia leads Affinity's Cyprus operation and works directly with clients and their advisers.

The Cyprus team combines local experience with Affinity's wider knowledge of corporate administration, private wealth and international structures. This allows us to support Cyprus companies that form part of a broader family, investment or commercial arrangement.

Our aim is straightforward: understand what the client needs, explain the administrative process clearly and remain closely involved after the company has been established.

Can Affinity establish a Cyprus company for me?

We can assist with company formation and the associated administrative process, subject to our client-acceptance procedures and the scope of our licence. We begin by understanding the proposed activities, ownership, countries of operation and purpose of the company. We then explain the information and due-diligence documents required.

How long does it take to establish a Cyprus company?

Timing depends on the proposed name, ownership, business activity, complexity of the structure, due-diligence process and the availability of information.

We provide an expected timetable once we understand the proposed structure. Registrar, banking and third-party processing times remain outside our control.

How long does it take to open a corporate bank account in Cyprus?

Opening a corporate bank account in Cyprus typically takes 2 to 6 weeks, however this is very dependent on how quickly the information and documentation we require is provided to us. Opening the bank account is initiated after you pass our client due-diligence process.

Can Affinity help open a bank account?

We can help prepare and coordinate a banking application and make introductions where appropriate.

The bank will carry out its own assessment and due diligence. Affinity cannot guarantee that a bank will approve an application or complete it within a particular period.

Why do international businesses use Cyprus?

Cyprus is an EU member state with an established corporate law framework and a substantial international business sector.

It may suit operating companies, international trading businesses, technology companies, holding structures and intellectual property businesses. Suitability depends on the client's commercial activities and tax position.

Does a Cyprus company automatically have access to the whole EU market?

A Cyprus company is established in an EU member state, but this does not give automatic permission to provide every service throughout the EU.

Regulated activities may require separate authorisation in Cyprus, the client's target market or both. Specialist advice should be obtained before carrying on regulated business.

Does Affinity provide tax or legal advice?

No. Affinity provides regulated administrative and corporate services.

We work with the client's chosen legal, tax and accounting advisers and can coordinate with independent specialists where required.
