What is the new Anjouan Recognition Notice?

The regulator has confirmed that from July 1st, 2025, the Recognition Certificate or a full Anjouan B2B license will be a mandatory requirement for all B2B entities working with Anjouan-licensed operators.

The new certificate includes software developers, platform providers, RNG and game suppliers, that provide gambling services in Anjouan. This is a positive step forwards for Anjouan, which signals stronger regulatory compliance and that should lead to enhanced trust with other operators, payment providers and partners.

To ease the transition, a 90-day grace period will be in place from the enforcement date, giving existing providers time to regularise their status. Compliance support will be offered throughout the period, and early applications are encouraged to avoid processing delays.

This means that a Malta-licensed platform, Isle of Man B2B licensed provider, a Romania-approved RNG supplier, or a game developer compliant with Swedish regulations can now apply for fast-track recognition—instead of doing a full-application.

To obtain the recognition notice, a B2B operator must hold a valid licence in a foreign jurisdiction, proof of partnerships with Anjouan B2C operators, such as service agreements and AML/KYC documentation. B2B providers in qualifying jurisdictions can now apply for the recognition and the processing time to obtain the licence is currently 3-6 weeks.
